First and foremost – DO NOT PAY ANYONE to get you on the Maps section of Google, Yahoo, or Bing – its FREE. That’s right FREE.
Recently I have heard some reps, account executives, and companies offering to place your business on Google maps for as little as $500. WHAT THE HELL. Really, stop, do your research before you buy any advertising or marketing concepts. Its free and its easy.
For Google just search Local Business center. Create a login and follow the directions. It is that easy. You will have to confirm your posting before it goes live. Use the phone option, its way quicker then the mail.
For Yahoo, its just as easy. Search for Local Business maps, add your listing and submit.
Bing, no surprise, search local business maps and add your listing. It will take a bit longer because their conformation comes in the mail.
Now that you are done you can check your listings on www.getlisted.org. This site also has other site you should check out. Don’t forget about Yelp.
